I have a Deluxe Brighton with SD mini pups. OMG. Never thought I'd like the minis but they sound SO good. Especially through my Supro Delta King amp. Another guitar you may enjoy is a Danelectro XT. It has a P90 in the neck and a double lipstick hum bucker w/coil splitting. I paid $400 for mine and it really has some killer tones.

2-3k$ for a solid body made in Indonesia it's just crazy.for the same price u can get a 60's or 70s Fender Mustang

This is a great review. I've been very interested in the Boden Essential since it dropped. You and I seem to have similar tastes in guitar necks, features, etc., so I feel that if you liked it, I should too. I do plan on getting one of these from Sweetwater. Seems like exactly what I've wanted all along.

Great video! I’m a Floyd Rose and Kahler user! I put Kahlers on both my Stratocasters along with the original behind-the-nut string lock. No matter how much I use the trem, it comes back to perfect pitch! The Kahler system is absolutely incredible!

Is Strandburg only a new experience or will it better my guitar skills?

Getting rid of zero fret and updating string lock design is really a great update. Really hoping this will be updated on the other models like metal nx and so on..... These models haven't been updated for years though they're sort of the main products of strandberg.😢

I'm very happy with my boden essential - curious if you will end up swapping the pickups over time on this one vs the other strandbergs you've had. It's not my favorite guitar but it's my most played guitar already, and I think if I could get some PRS 85/15's in there it might end up being my favorite.

It is truly a shame that Parker guitars is no longer in business. But it's very hard to deny the impact it has left on guitars to this day. The company is gone, but the legacy continues. Also, IMO Strandberg guitars are a bigger innovation than Aristides. Aristides basically took the Strandberg, removed the special neck profile, and made it out of a composite. You spoke about the Parker being a combination of many prior innovations, brought together in one instrument. I view the Strandberg in the same way. Each individual element isn't unique to Strandberg (except maybe the neck because of the patent), but it was the first one to combine ALL those things in that way. Still, the Parker is MORE innovative. Especially because of WHEN it was made.

Now I'm not the most tuned in to the latest indie stuff, but last I checked weren't they all playing strats? Not shreddy superstrats, regular old SSS strats. Metal guitarists have pushed the bounds of guitar technology to keep doing the 80s but faster, but if keeping with the times means making instruments for the newest kind of music, Gibson needs to make more 50s stuff, but Fender's 50s stuff instead of their own. It worked for PRS.

12:30 unless if you found yourself a deal for one on the second hand market - then it's definitely worth it. For less than $1300 I got me a Boden Original 7 and I couldn't be any happier with it.

I think this release was a great idea. I certainly like the idea of the more expensive ones more than this model (having not played this model) but think if I was in a different position (not already having a Strandberg) I wouldn't think twice. Since you mentioned the zero fret first, I feel like I have to say the absence is almost a deal breaker. I haven't actually heard any complaints about this from anyone else and think it is a fantastic addition to the guitar. I haven't noticed any wear on my Strandberg 8 string. I don't believe this model has a treble bleed included, which is a feature I love on mine. Make it much more useable with the tone knob and better for backing off especially when playing fusion stuff, fantastic for live use. The bridge is cheaper but can't be much more than .5% worse and the absence of the carbon fiber neck reinforcement is something I would want as I move a TON... But these don't matter to me on a 6 like they do on my 8 string. The absence of a trem is what has so far really stopped me from buying this. I have been considering another Strandberg for a bit, and I think when I need one I will still get the cheaper Salen with the trem due to *everything* being an upgrade (except for the scale, but the 25.5 on the low and the shortest scale length being 25 is still better with the EndurNeck than a longer scale without IMO), unless they release an essential with a trem before then. I agree the fan isn't necessary for playing 6s. I was fine with the fan on 6 string Strandbergs I have played, but as a dude with big fingers and a decent stretching ability I prefer longer scale length in every situation, which is in fact why I love multiscales-they usually allow for longer scale lengths and good balanced feel. So I prefer the 25.5 straight to 25-25.5. I actually prefer the Strandberg OEM pickups to the Suhrs and Fishmans that are alternatives, and solid finishes to fancy tops. I really like the 6 string even if it isn't as good as the higher-priced ones, but they have most Strandberg staples and are easily worth it. I can only hope for an 8 string essential with fanned frets. On an 8 I would be fine with every other downgrade since I already have one but on non-6-strings the multiscale is a need IMO.

Just thinking about buying this beauty...really love the look of the vibrola but I don't want to use it and I'm scared of what would happen if I broke a string..is everything out of tune like with a spring based fender tremolo? Can I do double bends? Is there a method to "fix it"?

Yooo, this one looks great, the old school features makes it more accessible to everyone, I am so used to jackson, ibanez, dean, even fender, this one would not feel so alien

I love and use a whammy. You can ignore a whammy and play a guitar with one. But! If you use one you cancel out buying the guitar. If it had a whammy I would get one immediately. I am amazed they missed such an obvious thing. It has likely killed off thousands of sale.

In other videos and in my experience with playing it i noticed things got a good bit thicker sounding and on a db meter you can see the difference and it will cause clipping in your signal if you leave the settings the same between triple and humbucker on a boost. So it obviously does make some change in sound.

The point behind the controls is that 90% of players are primarily bridge players, so they put the volume control nearest to where most players will use it.

Prices today are ridiculous. I'm quite happy with my ebony Epiphone Tony Iommi SG Custom. Still didn't pay $1,400
